Maddie and John were looking for something truly special for their engagement photos, and they didn’t want the typical posed and stiff shots. They were seeking an urban setting that was unique and would capture their personalities and their love for each other.
The courtyards at ReStays in Ottawa, with it’s iconic checkerboard flooring, provided the perfect setting for this engagement shoot. Despite the threat of rain, we pressed on, knowing that the photos would be worth it.
Before their session Maddie spoke to me about how they felt uneasy front of the camera. They wanted to make sure that they were given plenty of direction and that the shoot would be a relaxed and enjoyable experience. With guidance and direction, Maddie and John were able to let go of their nerves and just be themselves. Their love for each other was evident in every shot, and the stunning courtyards provided the perfect backdrop for their memories.
Maddie and John had a great vision for their engagement photos, and I was honored to help bring that vision to life. The unique and relaxed atmosphere of the shoot allowed them to be their authentic selves, and the result was a series of images that truly captured the essence of their love.
