Abbie & Jayson
All of the connections I have with Abbie and Jayson are just…honestly spooky.
I first worked with them back in March to celebrate their dog, Frank’s, tenth birthday. During that shoot I found out that Jay briefly with my husband, Josh, when he first started in his department way back when. Small world!
But then…it turns out that Abbie was house mates with Rachel at one point. And they have a family cottage a few doors down from Amanda and Mike’s place on Golden Lake (not even close to Ottawa!). SMALL WORLD indeed! So many connections!
Since our first shoot last winter, Abbie and Jayson got engaged! Unfortunately, our first planned meeting in the Glebe did not go well. The actual minute we were pegged to start shooting…it started raining. Which was weird because the weather network has assured me that it would NOT rain! But guess what? The weather network was wrong. It just started raining harder and harder and the radar told the tale of a storm that wasn’t about to quit…which meant that we had to. For the first time ever I had to postpone an active shoot…quite literally before it started!
I am SO glad we did. The weather we got the following weekend was so incredibly beautiful, and we spent a gorgeous fall evening walking, chatting and taking photos in the park.
On your wedding day, you get the weather that you get. If it’s rainy, we make it work. But for your engagement photos? We have the power to wait for better light, and (if you ask me) it’s always worth the wait.
