Serving La Pêche (Wakefield), Ottawa, PEC, Montreal + The Kawarthas
I met Kate and Dan at the Ministry of Coffee and Social Affairs on a dark and rainy autumn evening. As soon as they started telling me about their wedding, planned for the following summer at The Urban Element in Hintonburg (which is an old converted fire station turned cooking school) I knew it was going to be one of my favourite weddings of the year (the fact that Kate and Dan are also just about the nicest people you’ll ever meet didn’t hurt either!).
Kate and her friends got ready at the most fantastic cabin at Le Nordik in Old Chelsea. I had no idea they even rented cabins, but I can’t recommend them enough! The gorgeous views from this awesome/luxurious wood cabin made for some seriously great getting ready photos.
Early in the afternoon, Dan and his friends joined them at the cabin, where Kate and Dan did a first look and photos, while everyone enjoyed some downtime before heading into Ottawa for the wedding.
The Urban Element is a such a fantastic venue choice for your intimate wedding. Although it can’t house a huge guest list, the ambiance is to die for, and as you might imagine (considering that it’s also a cooking school) the food is out of this world.
